Smiles, & Giggles

Liam at 11 Weeks old

Liam at 10 weeks old
Liam has been giving us beautiful and cheeky smiles for the last 5 weeks its been lovely. He is developing a real personality now and boy is he cheeky!
He is starting to play with toys with help and when hes on his Play mat with the dangling toys he likes nothing more than to giggle at himself hitting the toys with his hands and feet.
People who see him at the shops are saying hes a real little boy!
He is suffering with the heat quite bad and loves the air-con I think that he will say Air-con or Lulu for his first words! (lol)
He is growing in leaps and bounds and we are so pleased since he started on the new formula.
well I will let you know how spoilt he is at christmas in my next post!

How many people does it take to put a train set together!

Alexander turned 3 on the 22nd of november, we attended a birthday party at his grandparents house (tristan's parents) Tanya had made a cake in the shape of a number 3 (fantastic job)
Alex had a great time opening presents and having the cards read out to him.
He got heaps of gifts including a Rory racing car track and a rory remote control car, clothes a golf set, and a wooden Train set (from aunty Trudie, Uncle Jas and Cousin Liam)
Shane, Tanya and Alex all sat on the floor and tried to put together the train set from the picture on the box, after seeing them struggle for 20 min I suggested that they use the instructions that were sitting beside Tanya.
Jason and Alex had fun playing with Rory the Remote control car, and In the back yard in alex's little red and yellow car. Im not sure who had more fun!
Liam had cuddles with Aunty Tanya and Grandad. Brenda had been staying with us over the weekend to spend time with liam, so when we went to the party we left her to go home with shane. We hope that she enjoyed her time with us.

Busy little family

It seems updating the blog is the last thing on my mind lately, sorry.
Liam has had his tongue tie released, when we saw the peadiatritian on monday, It has made some diffrence to the way he takes his bottle, but the poor little man has colic, we are trying a diffrent formula to see if that makes a diffrence. ( i hope it does, its hard to see him suffer)
Liam is now smiling and starting to use baby talk to interact with us, his favorite thing to do is shower with daddy where he leans backwards and puts his head under the water so he can lick the water falling over his face!
Grandma diane visited last week to help me out with catching up with sleep which i am very thankful for. She also helped me get the house in tip top shape.
Jason has been on call for the last week and I cant wait for him to hand over the pager this afternoon. He has done 18 hours of over time since thursday afternoon last week!
We will have brenda visiting this weekend to spend time with liam. I will update you all on the events of the weekend, and Alex's 3rd birthday party.

Our first few days with daddy at work

There is no doubt about it having Jason at home was fantastic, he would do the late shift and me the night to morning shift, it was great i at least got a few hours unbroken sleep before my shift started after midnight. the first few nights that i was on my own to do all the feeds was exhausting. I seem to be getting into a rhythm now, except i keep waking up early for his feeds waiting for him to wake. I am worried that i wont hear him when he wakes.
We have had to put our little man into his own room, I am such a light sleeper and being a new mum any little noise kept me awake wondering if he had wind or wasn't sleeping and so on...
I was reluctant to put Liam in his own room as it is so far away from ours. without the angel care monitor I don't think i could have relaxed enough to sleep with him so far away. But it has been a really good solution, I am now getting to sleep in between feeds.
Liam and I seem to be getting into a rhythm, i haven't been out of the house since Jason went back to work because until yesterday I wasn't allowed to drive, or lift the pram. (4 weeks post op)
so I am a little unsure about going out on my own with Liam, Its been so long I cant remember how to use the capsule in my car so ill get the book out and study before i go.
I have a weigh in with Liam tomorrow so I have got to go out and about! Look out world here we come!!!!

our progress at home.

We have been home 2 weeks now and seem to be settling in just fine, we have had a few sleepless nights with liam thinking that its playtime after midnight.
Jason has only 1 more week of holidays left and then im on my own with the little man. a bit of a daunting idea. I think mainly because the lack of adult conversation.
At liam's last visit to the nurse (on friday), he had grown almost 2cm and he is now 3.66kg.
Jason and I attended jason's 10 year school reunion last evening, where liam was a hit with all the girls. (already a heart throb) liam was extremely well behaved except when daddy had to stop for fule and the car wasn't moving! (things went well as soon as we got back on the road again) Well we are about to go for a walk to the dog off a leash area so i must sign off and catch you all later

Were Home!

Liam and I are now home and getting into the swing of life outside hospital, jason and I are a little tired to say the least, but wouldn't change things even if we could. Liam seems to be a very happy contented baby even though he had to spend 2 days in Phototherapy. He was just a little trooper. Jason has been fantastic, he looks after us so well i'm a very lucky girl to have him. He is just the best dad and so proud of his little man. Thankyou to everyone for your well wishes and thoughts we hope to be in contact with you all in the comming weeks when I have recovered a little more. Take care untill we see you again Trudie, Jason and Liam

An Unexpected Visitor

Just a little while ago i was wondering what the dogs were doing.......
So i went out to investigate, why they were madly scuffling around the patio, no barking just hurried movements. To my surprise they had a lizard cornered, I don't thing either of the dogs knew what it was, and more importantly what to do with it. I promptly called them inside and got the camera. as it scooted away from me probably more scared of me than the dogs. I took this not so great photo before it climbed the wall behind our worm farm. I do hope it finds its way out of our patio before i let the fur kids out to play again or at least that lulu & scruff don't find its hiding place.

3 weeks to go!

With just 3 weeks to go im feeling a little nervous, excited, and anxious, all at once. I have just stoped work yesterday the 9/9/09 wednesday. I am now on annual leave for 5 weeks and then unpaid maternity leave, Im having some trouble comming to terms with the idea of not earning any money at all. Jason says hes a little envious of me that I will be at home with bub and he will be stuck at work. but Im not quite sure who will have the easier task?
Jason will start holidays in 2 weeks time for 4 weeks to help me and bond with our new little one. Lulu and Scruffy seem to be at ease with the extra furnature in the house, I think they know something is going on, but I dont think that they know their whole world is about to change.
Jason played a clip of a new born baby crying the other day and both lulu and scruff didnt even look up the just kept doing what ever it was they were doing at the time. (we hope that is a good sign) We hope to keep you all up to date with a text message and pic when the bub arrives If we miss you out it will not be on purpose and we hope to catch up with you all after the baby arrives. Stay safe till we chat again.

33 weeks just 5 to go

I am now on the count down rather than counting how many weeks ive done! It seems funny that all of a sudden you forget how far you've come and only remember how long you have to go. Im tired and wish i could give up work today, but im great other than those 2 things, Jason has been able to feel bub move when he wants to, which just makes him giggle with delight, when he rubs his hand on my rather large bump and the baby kicks elbows of moves for him.
we have discovered that bub reacts to loud music not the soothing kind but the stuff they play in the cinemas (we saw Transformers) and bub did not give me a moments peace.
We think that we have everything organised for the new arrival but we will soon see won't we.
Jason is back at work this week, and busy as usual, his boss is happy hes back. I think there may be a lack of reliable staff in his department or staff that are not still learning the ropes as they are new. He still hasn't been granted the car, laptop or phone which have been promised to him, I think his work just makes empty promises to keep staff happy for the time being? ( I do hope Im wrong!) I hope that you are all well and that we catch up soon.

A baby Shower Thankyou!

Thankyou to all the family and friends who attended our baby shower on the weekend, we hope you enjoyed seeing our Nursery and talking everything baby with us. I'm so greatful that jason's family were able to stay and join us for the shower after Tanya & Tristan's wedding.
The gifts are just adorable and I think that it is already the most spoilt bub on the block, I must say there is not going to be any shortage of Aunty's & Uncles to fuss over our little one!
I have to say a big Thank you to Debbie, Aunty Merle, My Mum, and Jason for helping me so much over the weekend!
I will post photos soon for you all to see.

Congratulations to the Bride and Groom!

Tanya and Tristan were married at Mcleod country Golf Course saturday the 1st August at 12.30pm, The bride looked lovely in white, as shane proudly walked her down the red carpet,
just ahead of them was the bridesmaid wearing a black dress and red shawl.
The reception was informal, but well catered with canapes served. Short speaches were made which were very heartfelt and moving. especially on the part of the father of the bride. Tanya and Tristan made their farewell in a vintage princess Limousine to start their new life as husband and wife.

28 weeks and counting

Every thing is going great, Im having my gestational diabetes test tomorrow and off to the OB on friday, our little tadpole loves to use me for a football, (to which jason thinks is funny!)
my uniforms are getting tight and the girls have to give way to me when im trying to get past the reception desk. But all in all everything is going well i have only 7 weeks of work to go and then 3 weeks holidays before the baby arrives.
I have finally found something to wear to Tanya and Tristans wedding I have been to so many shops I just couldn't find something appropriate, alot of maternity clothes are made out of stretch fabric which is just not my thing! I have to say that i hope what i have chosen is appropriate and also warm enough! in 2 weeks time i will have photos of the day and I will post them for you all to see.

We are Over the halfway mark!!!!!

Just a small celebration for us, our little baby is now well and truly on its way growing well and looking very healthy and active. Jason was able to feel the baby in my tummy yesterday (not a kick but basically a hard lump) we had our 20 week scan today (a bit late at 21 weeks) all the measurements that the sonographer takes puts our little one in the average size on the graph so they estimate on arrival at 38 weeks we will have a 7.5 pound bub. (3.4kg)
I have done the calculations and we are now 17 weeks from arrival which when you think about it, it really isn't that far away. we are however quite organised we have our cot and change table, our pram is on order, we have a sling, a bouncer, a few clothes and some nappies.
slowly we are getting more and more organised. there is always little things that you need but we will get them along the way.
we hope every one is well and happy we look forward to catching up to you all give us a call sometime. you know the numbers!

The question on everyones mind is how Is tadpole going? He/She is well (no we don't know the sex yet and we are still debating finding out) and in answer to that everything is going swimmingly, (pardon the pun) the other question im being asked all the time is have i felt the baby moving...... Nope not at all sorry to say. I will keep you updated on that though!

Our little Family is expanding.

Ok so we haven't told everyone yet but we are getting around to it. I am aprox 14 weeks pregnant with a very healthy little one. I have had the Nuccal Translucency scan on Thursday and we are told that we are in the low risk category for all those nasty abnormalties.
Jason and I are thrilled and cant wait to go shopping. My morning sickness has gone ( I really didnt suffer much at all) and I am feeling really good.
We will be having a big BBQ on saturday to anounce to our friends that we are adding to our family, So if you cant make it or you live too far away we hope to call you and let you know asap, we promise, I do however have pregnancy brain already so please dont be upset if we missed you out.
The Grandparents are especially excited we hope that they enjoy the experience as much as we are and that they become involved as much or as little as they would like.
I will keep everyone updated as to Tadpole's progress and how we are coping with the changes
in the comming weeks.
But here is some of our ultra sound photos from 13 weeks.
