Count Down till Cape York 2013...
In 4 Days time we will set out on our month long trip to cape york. I will update with photos and information on the whole trip when we return.
This is Jason's dream trip he has spent months preparing out Nissan Patrol & Camper trailer for the trip, upgrading suspension, building a equipment draw, adding a rooftop cargo rack. Upgrading to mud Tyres and new steel rims so our alloys don't get damaged. The Camper Trailer has had a complete overhaul suspension, bearings the works (with huge thanks to Grandad for your help)
A Little bit of art and culture with a little science thrown in...
Hanging hi above the entrance to the gallery is this disassembled Repsol Motorbike... It looks amazing....
There is even art on the wall outside the Toilets... you know these things when you have young children, they always need to go to the loo at the worst possible moment... "Pipes" art work... hmm outside a toilet...
The science and Art Exhibit we visited with some friends from playgroup was a bit of fun especially the ping pong ball shooter... Liam had a great time trying to catch them as they shot through the air towards the wall... I'm not sure how much the kids learnt about science but the had a great time playing with all the interactive exhibits.

January 2013 and Ipswich Floods again...
To all our Friends and Family, We are safe, the only problems we have had are minor compared to areas that have flooded again.
1. We get the run off from the property next door and some water got in our shed. (easily fixed with a couple of spoon drains to stop it happening again.)
2. The Trampoline sustained some damage as the wind was so strong the trampoline did cart wheels across the yard. ( Jason and Granddad will be able to fix the bent poles that hold the safety net on.)
3. This is the road into Ipswich. (below)
We have plenty of food and Jason is still able to get to work so If I need anything that I can't get at the local shop he will bring it home from a shop in Brisbane for us. Or In the case of bread I could just make it myself... As there has been no bread available for 3 days now.

Preparation for the Cape...
In preparation for our month long trip to Cape York this year we have decided that we will treat ourselves to some luxury and buy a Hard Floor Camper Trailer...
This means saying goodbye to "Tilly" our faithful camper trailer. We have not done alot of camping since we had liam and one of the reasons for this is the height of the bed in our soft floor camper. Now we will have a Well set out kitchen and the bed will be lower to the ground and just a step off the floor of the camper.
Our new camper came with heaps of extras like 2x gas bottles, Water Bottles, Kitchen with 4 burner stove, Battery & LED Lights, Extra 12v sockets for the camp shower and one in the annex for lights... It is a well set up little camper. I can't wait to go camping to try it out.

1st Camping trip for the new year...
Jason was lucky enough to get friday off and we took off early in the morning for Borumba Deer Park (Near Imbil) we met up with friends Chris and Nicci and their 2 kids Levi and Flynn, they had been camping since wednesday. Jason and Chris went out fishing on Saturday morning early and Nicci, myself and the kids met up and went to the playground.
We all had a ball in the creek, especially Lulu... who loves to swim. Cody even ventured in but didn't need to swim as he is so large he could walk.
I took some photo's of all the kids and I even tried my hand at promotional photo's for chris's tackle box company.
We all had a great time and will definately be going camping together again very soon...
