Finally we have the money to get rid of our old, and very crappy carpets. The debate between new carpet (Jason's Preference) & Laminate/Floating floor (my choice) was won by me, I felt that it would be easier to clean, Less of a problem with Jason's Asthma and Liam's Hay-fever allergies, etc. But mostly I love wooden floors. Jason wanted to keep me happy so we got the more expensive floating floor. It looks stunning! I'm so happy with how it looks. I have Included a few pic's of the very interesting transformation. I'm not saying that anything went smoothly because It was a disaster Jason and I were sleeping in swags in the Lounge room for 3 nights, Carpet call Aspley were at fault mostly as they didn't book us in when they gave us the date. Then we were told it was 100% certainty that it was being done on Friday the 14th so Jas took the Thursday, Friday off and began moving all our furniture onto the tilled areas and into the garage only to receive a call at 2pm Thursday saying that our floor was not going to be done till Saturday... I was LIVID we had no beds, Liam had no toys, or cot everything was in the garage. Having no family close by we had no where to stay and we have a 10 week old puppy to care for. Sat I took Liam out to Kayla's house to stay out of the way while the floor was layed, but I got a call to say that there was floor prep to be done and it wouldn't be finished until Sunday. Thankfully the flooring guys were good enough to work on Sunday to finish the Job. But it took all day to do 7am till 5pm Meanwhile we slept in the Lounge room with our back neighbors having a party all night (they went to bed at 7am) Liam was woken all night by their noise and I got very little sleep with the noise and attending to Liam. I was not a happy camper Sunday. I had to take Liam out again. But not before I told the flooring guys to make as much noise with their circular saw as possible out the back of the house... Sweet revenge. Well here are some Pics of our new floors I will post more as soon as I put them on my computer.
I was in the back yard with liam and I had to take the bin out so I let Liam know where I was going and went out to the front yard, Our neighbour Anne had just returned so I stopped and said Hi, meanwhile Liam herd me talking and must have climbed into Jason's new Tyres that we are using to stop Cody from escaping the back yard to get closer to us. The next thing I hear is MUMMY... MUMMY... MUMMY.... so I quickly went to the back yard to find liam stuck in the tyres, but like all great mothers, of my time I went inside and grabbed the camera, took these photos and in doing so Liam learnt that he could get out of the jam that he had gotten into. So it all worked out in the end.
This year I tried a construction theme for Liam's birthday party. I handed out Kids construction helmets to all the kids instead of Lollie bags! we had cars and zippy riders and a cosy coupe car and 2 slides for the kids to play on but I have to say the construction sand pit was the winner, by far. The kids had a ball playing with the dump truck and digger and all the digging tools. I sadly forgot to take photos of everyone playing so I'm waiting to see if any of the other parents took photos.( I'm so mad with myself, I was just so busy) The photo's of the cake were taken the day before the party when I wasn't so busy.
